Lok Sabha elections: Top 20 promises made by BJP in manifesto

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior BJP leaders released the Lok Sabha election manifesto on Sunday. Called ‘Sankalp Patra’, the document promises to implement the Uniform Civil Code and simultaneous elections across the country. It also talks about establishing new IITs, IIMs and AIIMS.

Top 20 promises made by BJP in Lok Sabha election manifesto:

  1. Accelerating development of robust infrastructure along the borders with China, Pakistan, and Myanmar, incorporating smarter technological solutions.
  2. Implementing the Citizenship Amendment Act and granting citizenship to eligible individuals.
  3. Enforcing the Uniform Civil Code to ensure equal rights for women.
  4. Making One Nation, One Election a reality through a High Powered Committee.
  5. Strengthening institutes like IITs, IIMs, and AIIMS through focused funding and infrastructure upgradation.
  6. Promoting peace in the Northeast and resolving inter-state border disputes.
  7. Aiming for India to become the third largest economic power within a decade.
  8. Providing free ration to 80 crore citizens for the next five years under PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana.
  9. Offering free electricity to poor households under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
  10. Empowering three crore rural women to become Lakhpati Didis.
  11. Creating infrastructure near industrial and commercial centers to encourage women’s workforce participation.
  12. Expanding health services to ensure a healthy life for women, focusing on preventing diseases like Anaemia and Cancer.
  13. Implementing Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam for women’s representation in Parliament and State Legislatures.
  14. Extending Ayushman Bharat scheme coverage to all senior citizens for free healthcare access.
  15. Increasing MSP on crops and providing financial assistance to farmers under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.
  16. Launching a Krishi Infrastructure Mission for integrated agri-infrastructure projects.
  17. Introducing Krishi Satellite for farm-linked activities and weather forecasting.
  18. Including auto, taxi, and truck drivers in social security schemes.
  19. Empowering small traders and MSMEs with ONDC to expand their businesses using technology.
  20. Ensuring continuous support for farmers and sustainable development policies.
