Stock market holiday 2023 : As per the stock market holiday calendar for 2023, trading at the BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange) and NSE (National Stock Exchange) will remain closed on 7th April 2023, due to Good Friday. This means that there will be no trading activity taking place at the Indian stock market today. As per the list of stock market holidays in April 2023, available on the official website of BSE (bseindia.com), there will be no action in the Equity Segment, Equity Derivative Segment, and SLB Segment today. Trading at the Currency Derivatives Segment will also remain suspended at the Indian stock market today, in observance of Good Friday celebrations across the nation.
In addition, there will be no trading in the Commodity Derivatives Segment and Electronic Gold Receipts (EGR) Segment on MCX (Multi Commodity Exchange) and NCDEX (National Commodity Exchange) as well, during both the morning and evening sessions.
This marks the second stock market holiday in April 2023, as the Indian stock market was also closed on 4th April 2023 for Mahavir Jayanti. The next stock market holiday will fall on 14th April 2023, for Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Jayanti, as per the stock market holiday calendar for 2023.

Following the unexpected decision by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to maintain interest rates unchanged after the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting, the Indian stock market rebounded from its intraday lows and closed in positive territory.
